About Kerr Family Funerals

Kerr Family Funerals is based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire and offer our funeral services across Herts, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, as well as North West London including areas such as Kilburn, Willesden, Edgware, Wembley, Barnet and Alperton.

Our service is personal, and we work hard to ensure that ‘Care and Quality aren’t compromised’.

We have worked closely with families and communities from a broad spectrum of society, including Roman Catholic, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Hindu, Church of England and other mainstream Christian denominations. My aunty sadly passed away at home in the early hours of the morning in December last year. It was the first death in our family that we had to deal with in the UK, and we had absolutely no idea what to do or where to begin. We were mostly relying on guidance we could find online and looking through websites and reviews of different funeral directors. The moment my cousin came across their website, she said, "We're going with them."

We called them very early in the morning, around 5 am, and they answered promptly. Within a couple of hours, they were at our home.

I particularly wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to Alex, who was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. He handled everything with such professionalism, patience and compassion. He took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all our questions and paid great attention to even the smallest details. There were times when he took the initiative to chase things up on our behalf, which we really appreciated.

What we also appreciated was his honesty and practical advice. Rather than encouraging us to spend more than we needed to, he carefully explained the different options available and helped us choose what was most suitable for our family and our budget. There was never any pressure to spend more, and we genuinely felt that he had our best interests at heart.

It was an incredibly difficult time for our family, especially as we were completely unfamiliar with the process. But Alex made everything as straightforward and stress-free as possible, giving us one less thing to worry about.

Alex also conducted the funeral ceremony, and what stood out to me most was the dignity, care and utmost respect with which he treated my aunty throughout. That meant more to us than I can put into words.

Thank you so much, Alex Kerr and Family, for everything you did for my aunty and our family. Your kindness, professionalism and genuine care made a real difference during one of the most difficult times of our lives. We will always be grateful.

Having previously handled my sister daughter's funeral with the utmost grace, we already trusted them completely. Their rapid response and care for our Dad exceeded every expectation on extremely short notice, they took over all the arrangements ensured everything was done right, and treat our Dad and family with incredible respect and dignity.

They were excellent across the board. Not only did they ensure the funeral ran smoothly but they also catered to my late dad and family's wishes for the funeral. Everything was meticulously planned and executed.

I have been a pallbearer at other funerals and felt apprehensive about dropping the casket but not with Kerr Family Funerals. They guided us from outside the church to the altar, which is not an experience I had before and one I felt way more comfortable with. At my father's funeral, one of the staff shadowed the pallbearers as we brought dad into the church, ready to support when necessary. I can't stress how much I preferred this to the "Wild West" style I was used to at previous funerals.

I'm terrible with names but all of the staff were very down to earth, decent people.

My goal is to remain anonymous (hence my name) but I'm sure "Liverpool" and "February 19th" will make sense to the funeral home.
